The Vicar:

(The Rev’d) Fr. Leonard L. Sorvillo, A.CSSS

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus of Nazareth!

As a steward of our Saviour, and one dedicated to upholding the unchangeable Gospel, I have been called to provide to the faithful of South Florida, both traditional liturgy and biblically sound orthodox preaching. It is our hope here at Christ the King Anglican Church that you will pray for the discernment to visit us, and then, if guided by the Spirit, you will come and once again bask in 'the faith as delivered to the Saints.'

Being a cradle Episcopalian, raised and confirmed in the then Diocese of South Florida, I was called to the Priesthood later in life.  Educated in the Dade County Public School System, and Miami Dade College, my initial Theological training was through the Montreal School of Theology after which I received my M. Div. from Laud Hall Theological Seminary. Upon my ordination to the Diaconate, I was called to establish an Anglo-Catholic Mission here in South Florida; The Rev’d Canon W. Offerle, CSSS, of blessed memory acted as our Honorary Clergy and my personal mentor. Having completed my education, I was ordained to the Most Holy Priesthood on the Feast of St. Michael, 29 September, 2005.

I am a Forward in Faith NA Priest, a Priest of the Anglican Church in North America, an Associate of the Congregation of the Companions of the Holy Savior, CSSS, a member of the Fellowship of Concerned Churchmen, a member of Anglicans for Life, (a pro life ministry) and the Commissary to the United States for the Diocese of Koforidua, Anglican Province of West Africa.

As Rector of Christ the King Anglican Church, I welcome you to come back to a God that is the same today as He was yesterday---the same that He will be tomorrow.  O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation, (Ps 95).

Priest Associate:

(The Rev’d) Fr. Lovemore Chiweshe

My name is Fr. Lovemore (Moore) Chiweshe. I was born in Zimbabwe. My wife Hamufari (Fari) and I have two beautiful daughters, Kudzi (11) and Tino (7). I was born and raised in an Anglican Church tradition.

I completed primary education at Anglican mission schools where I attended Sunday school, had a privilege to serve as an acolyte, and was an Anglican Youth Club member. I received my call to the priesthood in the 1980’s and spent some years in a local parish lay-ministry before going into seminary.

I was ordained in 1992 after completing studies at the National Theological College in Zimbabwe and the University of Zimbabwe respectively. In Zimbabwe, I served in two parishes before migrating to the USA where I joined the Episcopal Diocese of Southeastern Florida. In the ECUSA, I served in various capacities from 1997 to 2005. Between 2006 and 2007, I participated in the Anglican Mission in America as an assistant pastor at the Anglican Church of the Word, Pembroke Pines. Guided by the spirit of the Lord, I come to Christ the King Church, Davie where I hope to faithfully serve the Lord in this part of his vineyard.
