Upcoming Plans

Lets all put our thinking caps on for our next upcoming event. Fr. Moore and I feel that with our growing number of children, and with the summer upon us, we should focus on the needs of our junior members. Maybe a Picnic---or Bowling---or a Marlins game---or a short one day cruise on the ocean. Please lets work to gether to get these children to know each other better.

Pentecost/Mothers Day Celebration
This year, the Feast of Pentecost and Mothers Day fell on the same Sunday.With the descent of the Holy Ghost we are fortified and guided through out our lives---not unlike the love of a mother for her child. As a recognition of our appreciation for Gods bestowal of motherhood upon women, we celebrated after Mass with beverages, cheese and appetizers. With great attendance and a wonderful selection of friends, everyone had a great time.

Congratulations to Christ the King
Once again, the Anglo-Catholic family of Christ the King has come through for the Diocese of Koforidua. As you recall, Bishop Quashie wrote to us this past March asking for our help in getting him to the Lambeth Conference this summer. With the generous donations of both individuals and parish, we were able to send to Bishop Quashie $1000.00.

You may ask, why is this so important?Well, Lambeth occurs only once every ten years. It is an opportunity for all the Bishops of the church to pray and meditate, asking the Holy Ghost to reveal to them what God's direction for the church is. Mirroring the fourth century Council of Nicea, this Lambeth Conference will be focused on the true authority of scripture.

Please pray for all the Bishops of the Anglican Communion, that they may hear the true word of God!

FiFNA Annual Assembly
This June, I will be traveling from June 11th-13th to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Bellville Illinois.

This is Forward in Faith's yearly gethering and its theme this year is "A Celebration of Common Cause." Why might this be of interest you ask?

Well as some of you may know, the Common Cause Partners are some 1100 Anglican/Episcopal churchs that have gathered together to provide a safe haven for the faithful---a safe haven of gospel truth.

It is well expected that the Common Cause Partners, (of which we are part through Forward in Faith) will become the new Anglican Province in the US, restoring the country to the roots it was founded on.

I am so pleased to tell you that our web page has been refreshed and modernized. In addition to that, Christ the King Anglican Church is now listed on both the Forward in Faith and Common Cause Partners page of the Anglican Communion Network.

We also have been added to the directory pages of the 'Fellowship of Concerned Churchmen.'
